Among the huge list of achievements of humanity, which unites the achievements of great men, geniuses, inventors, as well as ordinary people, there are many interesting and wonderful events, ranging from the access to space and ending up with the invention of forging rolls.

Internet is one of the most significant democratic advances of the technological process.

With his arrival, the information becomes a potential asset of most people on the planet.

All global communications relating to the telegraph, telephone, radio, television and computer technology, are now integrated into a coherent whole – the Internet.

It is a mechanism for dissemination of information, uniting people and their interactions, regardless of distance, time, public and many other boundaries.

Internet exceeded and surpassed all expectations and projections.

Over the past few years in this area there was a qualitative leap.

As a result, today we can confidently conclude that the global Internet network has ceased to be simply a storage system and the transfer of super-large amounts of information, it has become a new layer of our everyday reality, and spheres of life of countless people.

According to some data, the population of worldwide network in 20 countries is about 300 million.

In North America the number of people with home Internet access it the largest (about 150 million), followed by European countries – 82 million with leading UK, Germany and Italy.

The study also showed that most users have access to the Internet from home, not at work.

With exception of Switzerland, where the proportion is equal.

In 1961, the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) under orders of the Ministry of Defense has launched a project to create a pilot network packet.

The network, called ARPANET, was originally intended to develop the methods to ensure reliable communication between computers of different types. Many methods for data transmission via modems were developed in ARPANET.

At the same time have been developed and data transmission protocols in the network – TCP / IP. TCP / IP – a set of communication protocols that define how different types of computers can communicate with each other.

Then the same data transmission protocols in the network – TCP / IP. TCP / IP were developed- a set of communication protocols which define how different types of computers can communicate with each other.

The experiment with the ARPANET was so successful that many organizations want to enter it, to use it for daily data.

In 1975, the ARPANET transformed from a pilot network into a working network.

The Defense Communication Agency (DCA), called now the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), took the responsibility for administration of the network.

But the development of ARPANET did not stop there; Protocols TCP / IP continued to develop and improve.

In 1983, the first standard for TCP/IP appeared, which entered the Military Standards (MIL STD), i. e. to military standards, and everybody who worked on the network, were required to move to these new protocols.

To facilitate this transition DARPA submitted a proposal to the heads of the company Berkley Software Design – to implement TCP / IP protocols in the Berkeley (BSD) UNIX. Everything began with this alliance of UNIX and TCP / IP.

Some time later, TCP / IP has been adapted to normal, that is a public standard, and the term Internet came into general use.

In 1983 ARPANET stand apart from the MILNET, which referred to Defense Data Network (DDN) of the Ministry of Defense. The term Internet was used to mean a single network: MILNET plus ARPANET.

And although in 1991, ARPANET ceased to exist, the Internet exists, its dimensions are much higher than the original because it combines multiple networks around the world.

The founders of ARPANET originally allowed the scientists just log in and run the program on a remote computer.

Soon, these features were added to the file transfer, electronic mail and mailing lists that provide communication of researchers who took an interest in the same area of science and technology. Due to the development of ARPANET Internet began to exist.
